Hi! I'm Karen!
For much of my life, I've been pursuing flourishing upside down, backwards, and inside out! Upside down, in "doing" to gain belovedness, rather than from a place of belovedness. Backwards, in "pouring in" to others that fosters their dependence on me, rather than "drawing out" of them that empowers them. And inside out, in seeking sustained change independently, rather than interdependently within the context of intimate, trusting relationships.
As I sought flourishing for my nursing home residents, as their licensed administrator. For the grieving, as a Stephen Minister. For fellow mothers and our children, as a parenting class instructor and homeschool tutor. And for the oppressed, as a certified trauma-Informed domestic abuse advocate.
And, as I pressed out of my comfort zone toward my own flourishing. Choosing to follow Jesus wherever the journey led. Gaining holistic healing from an auto-immune disease without medical intervention. Replacing destructive relational patterns from my childhood with healthier ones. And, persevering through a wall of fear in building my own life coaching business.
But, training to become a Certified Professional Life Coach has transformed my paradigm, as I now seek to draw out, rather than pour in. To foster agency, rather than foster dependence. To attune with others to their personhoods, rather than intrude with mine. And, to create a safe space for seekers to reconnect with their core and their calling through the highly effective relational partnership of coaching.
As a fellow work-in-progress, a voracious learner, a simplicity seeker, a contra-dancer, a whole foods concocter, a cold-composting gardener, a lover of corny jokes, a mother, a Nonna, a friend, and a committed Christian, I bring my whole self to coaching your whole self toward true transformational change.
